Catherine, the creator of the fun-loving character, Lady Muck, led a very different life before she started writing.
Her first career was in Marketing, working with brands such as Pepsi, Heinz, Guinness, and Sony. And she loved it.
Sadly, that life ended overnight, in her 30s, when a severe, physically disabling illness hit.
She spent many years in a blacked-out room in constant pain, unable to walk, talk, sit, stand or write. Little more than a breathing corpse, she had to be spoon fed, watered, washed, dressed, and nursed by her husband and family, like a baby.
But she was one of the lucky few to find a way out of the hell that is Severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.)
So many never do.
And once she started to improve, she turned to gardening as therapy - finding strength, joy, and purpose in nurturing plants - and fun. Lady Muck is the character she created to share that fun.
Whilst Catherine’s journey has been long, hard, and painful - and even though she lives with the threat of relapse - she finds great joy in writing stories that make people smile. For years there was little in her own life to smile about which is why making others laugh is so important to her. Through her magazine articles and books she hopes to continue doing just that for many years to come.
The Lady Muck Style Series is available now.
